In the ongoing saga of Samsung Galaxy S III leaks, rumors, and chicanery, a new leak has been posted at Reddit. Mixed in among the U MAD BRO meme pics was the picture you see above, and the post with a brief explanation, supposedly from a fellow with a friend who works at Samsung. We've quoted the following spicy bits for easy reading: He said that it will possibly have two optional launchers, ICS with touchwiz overlay and vanilla ICS. They aren't 100 percent sure if they will stick with touchwiz or have the dual launcher option. If they go dual, you will have the option of picking which one to use at startup, and you can change any time. He said it has a 4.7 inch screen that nearly takes up the whole phone, but some bezel space was needed for the camera, speakers, mic, and so cases would fit on it. He said it WILL be HD and have a ceramic "micro arc oxidation" back. Is this for real? We have no idea. But it sure is fun to look at on a Saturday night. Hit the source link to see the various Reditor's take on this one.Source: Reddit.

We told you the Sprint Galaxy Nexus was one step closer after it passed through the FCC a couple of days ago. The latest rumor, which s4gru.com says comes from an inside source at Sprint, is that the carrier has decided to release the device on April 15th. That’s a Sunday, which would normally seem like an unlikely day for a phone’s release, but Sprint has been known to do Sunday releases in the past. Also, Sprint’s Galaxy Nexus contest ends on April 14th, along with a few promotions for older WiMax devices, giving some more credence to the rumor.Other interesting details the source provided centers around the phone’s LTE capabilities. First, the phone will come set to 3G connectivity by default. This makes sense since Sprint’s LTE network will not be anywhere near fully rolled out. A toggle function will be available to switch between 3G and 4G. This can be seen as an advantage since the LTE radio can use more battery power than 3G. Verizon Galaxy Nexus users have been asking for an LTE toggle, so it would be nice to have it built-in by default. Second, the Sprint Galaxy Nexus will support eHRPD, the protocol used to allow for seamless handoffs between 3G EVDO and 4G LTE. This will be greatly useful while users go in and out of 4G areas during Sprint’s LTE build-out.I hope these rumors are true. The sooner Sprint releases the Galaxy Nexus, the more likely it will be a successful device for them. If they delay too long, other phones, like the HTC One X, may steal the thunder. Though I am tempted by HTC’s latest, I have to admit the allure of a Google Experience phone may be just too much to ignore.source: s4gru via: phandroid

HTC seems to be hard at work on getting Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0 to their devices, evidenced by the Over the Air (OTA) firmware that have been leaked for different HTC devices, indicating that HTC is indeed working to get ICS out to the masses as soon as possible. The latest device to see Ice Cream Sandwich leaked through OTA channels is the HTC Rezound, with the new 3.11.605.2 firmware. It still only comes with Sense 3.6 instead of Sense 4.0, but the final version will (hopefully) feature Sense 4.0 instead of 3.6.The firmware is a release candidate for the OTA update, so it’s definitely not a final version, so expect bugs scattered here and there. Here’s a look at the features of the firmware:1. Android OS 4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich)2.  CMAS support added3. IPv6 over eHRPD supported4. UI updated to Sense 3.65. Caller Name ID app added6. The first half of 2011 has brought a slew of Honeycomb tablets, but many think that two tablets stand above the rest: the Asus Eee Pad Transformer and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. So it is very fortunate that we are currently in possession of both tablets and can give everyone an idea of what they look like head-to-head. Of course the tablets, boast mostly the same specs, including a 10.1″ display with a 1280×800 resolution, NVIDIA dual-core 1GHz processor, and 1GB of RAM, but there are definitely some differences. So which one has the upper edge?Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Screen: While both tablets have the same size screen and resolution, you can tell a difference in the screen clarity. Just like with Samsung’s SAMOLED displays, this screen is bright and brings out colors better than any other. Dimensions: The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is the thinnest Android tablet to date, toting dimensions of 9.69 x 6.71 x 0.43. It is only .08″ thinner than the Transformer, but that difference makes a world of difference. Holding the tablet is easier, and laying it on a table is better compared to the Transformer, which has a rounded back. LTE: This isn’t a required spec when getting the Galaxy Tab 10.1, but it does make a difference. The Transformer is only available in a WiFi option, so unless you are paying for a hotspot or your home all the time, this LTE action will come in handy. Speakers: There are two speakers on the Galaxy Tab 10.1, located on the left and right side of the tablet. This gives videos, games, and music clearer sound quality and an almost surround sound feeling. The Transformer’s speakers are located on the bottom of the left and right edge, which your hands will most likely get in the way and muffle the sounds.Asus Eee Pad Transformer No OEM Skin: Guess what? The Galaxy Tab 10.1 is getting or will be getting a tablet optimized version of TouchWiz (LTE version does not yet). We’ve talked about it a lot. The Transformer has some skinning placed on it, but are really only the navigation buttons at the bottom and a couple widgets. Other than that, pure Google Honeycomb (and hopefully ICS). HDMI and Mini-SD Card: One of the problems with the Galaxy Tab’s thinness is that it is it doesn’t allow slots and ports. The Transformer has a built in HDMI-out port and mini-SD card port, while you need to buy accessories to give the Galaxy Tab those specs. Keyboard Dock: The Galaxy Tab 10.1 has some exclusive Bluetooth keyboards, but nothing that compares to the Transformer’s Keyboard Dock. It’s made to turn the tablet into a netbook, gives the tablet an extra 10 hours of battery, 2 USB ports, and an SD card reader. Price: Pricing for the Galaxy Tab 10.1 starts at $499 and can jump all the way up to $699 for the LTE version. The 16GB Transformer is priced at $399, which was is still on of the cheapest 10″ Honeycomb tablets to date. Both tablets are great options, but each one has some unique differences to offer. Which one you choose depends on what you want more out of your tablet. Are there any other specs that each tablet has over the other? Anything you would like to change? let us know.Source: http://limitlessdroid.com

The tablet market will see an upheaval of sorts with the launch of the New iPad. What does this mean for Android tablets currently in the market? Who are the potential challengers to this new Apple baby? In this article we are pitting the New iPad against two heavyweights of Android – the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and the Asus Transformer Pad. Let’s have a look and find out if these two Android behemoths stand a chance against the new and improved iPad.ScreenThe new iPad comes with retina display providing a resolution of 2048×1536 pixels at 264 ppi. It is about 4 times the resolution of the iPad2.At 10.1 inch Galaxy tab 2 offers slightly bigger screen than iPad but with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels at 149ppi.The Asus transformer pad offers a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels and at 224 ppi.ProcessorThe New iPad comes with A5X dual core chip offering quad core graphic. Samsung Galaxy has a 1 GHz dual core processor.Transformer pad offers Nvidia tegra 3 quad core processor.DesignThe iPad hasn’t experienced much change in the design. Rather it seems heavier and thicker than the iPad 2.The Galaxy tab offers silvery strips down the side making it easier to hold, but the back is boring plane. The transformer pad comes in all metal box and attractive finish. It is not the slimmest tab around but if you want to use it with dock you need a bag to carry it.Extra featuresThe new photo app and its improved camera is something really new.The Galaxy comes with galaxy tab which offers Samsung’s various hubs for music, video and social networking. The transformer’s main feature is its keyboard dock.PricePrice of the New iPad will start from 399 pounds for the 16 GB model. Apple has kept the price structure of the New iPad same as that of the iPad 2. On the other hand, the Asus Transformer Prime costs 500 pounds which is way higher than the New iPad. Nothing is known yet as far as the price of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 price is concerned. But it is believed that it will have a price structure similar to that of the New iPad. So here, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 will match the New iPad toe to toe.ConclusionIt is difficult to judge which of these tablets will have the last laugh, but given the track record in the past it seems Apple definitely holds an edge in terms of performance and brand reputation. Combined with excellent marketing strategy, Apple might easily outmaneuver its competitors and retain its crown of being the largest manufacturer of tablet in the world. But Asus and Samsung will definitely give it a tough fight in achieving that mark.Source:  http://limitlessdroid.com

Have a hankering for some Ice Cream Sandwich on the HTC Rezound? Patience, folks, as Verizon's not pushing it just yet, but an early and very much unofficial build has been leaked to the folks at Android Police, who have in turn made it available to everyone. You'll need to be on a stock bootloader -- HTC's unlocked bootloader won't work -- and you need to remember that this is likely to differ from what eventually gets pushed out. (When the official version will hit is still anyone's guess -- Verizon hasn't yet said.) So long as you're cool with that, hit the link below and get to flashing.Source: Android Police

Samsung produces the most successful line of Android devices in the world. For their tablets, they have taken a novel approach by creating a variety of choices 7-inch, 8.9-inch, 10.1-inch and, now, 7.7-inch tablet. Most of these tablets posses enough differentiating factors to make them stand out, and the Galaxy Tab 7.7 is a prime example of that with a display that blows any competing tablet out of the water. Galaxy Tab 7.7 compared to the size of the Samsung Galaxy S2 The Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 LTE  features an incredibly gorgeous7.7 inch HD Super AMOLED Plus display measuring 1280 x 800 pixels as well as a Micro-SD card slot. It’s interesting to note that both of these features are not available on any of the other Galaxy Tablets. Other specs include 4G data support from Verizon’s speedy LTE network, a 1.4GHz dual-core Exynos processor, a 3 megapixel rear shooter with flash, and the device itself comes preloaded with Android Honeycomb 3.2 with TouchWiz UI on top. The size of this Tablet really sits right in the sweet spot for tablet sizes, and it’s small enough to feel very portable, and not too small that it feels llike an over-sized smartphone.Furthermore, it has a sufficiently large battery that can power its 1.4GHz, dual-core processor through a full day’s use, and its industrial design is attractive and feels very comfortable to hold. While using the device I had nothing but a great experience, and it blew me away with its performance, I didn’t run into any lag no matter what I threw at it. The 4G LTE speed from Verizon is amazing and flawless like always. Both the 2 megapixel front and 3 megapixel rear camera do their job very well. My favorite feature of the tablet is, without a doubt, the display. It’s beautiful to see an AMOLED Plus display on a 7.7-inch screen. This tablet will make anyone who purchases one a happy camper, and will definitely garner jealous scowls from iPad owners. The only downfall for this device is its $499 on-contract price. That’s a lot of money to pay for a device that still requires its own 2 year data contract to operate. You can still get it without a contract for $699 which is a very pricey tag for an Android Tablet. For a more in-depth look at this amazing Android device, check out the video below. Source: androidauthority.com

If you are getting weary of waiting for that Android 4.0 ICS update on your HTC Vivid phone from AT&T, you can force the ICS update manually by typing *#*#682#*#* in your phone dialer.  But you’d better get a move on, since AT&T didn’t officially acknowledge the update to the newest version of Android for the phone, and the carrier may prematurely put an end to your Android dessert binge.Once you type in the code, a notification should appear on your HTC Vivid phone, and you will be prompted to download the 314.09MB update that leads you to the ICS door. Similar to the ICS update on the HTC Sensation and HTC Velocity a couple of days back, the Sense UI will receive a facelift as well to version 3.6.Those who have applied the ICS update on their HTC Vivid reported an improved performance of their phones. Everything you expect to see from ICS is there, including the Roboto font, made specifically for the new OS, and the Face Unlock functionality. Apparently, you can now remove AT&T’s bloatware from the home screen, though uninstalling still isn’t an option. Check out the hands-on video  that The Verge has uploaded here.Note that the trick may not work with an unlocked model of the phone, since this particular dialer code is specifically used for AT&T network. With this unofficial official ICS update for the HTC Vivid, the waiting list is shrinking ever slowly – but surely. All that’s left is but a dozen or so HTC phones. Oh.To HTC Vivid owners out there — do share with us if the code still works on your phone.  Those that have done the deed, are you digging the Roboto look on your phone?SOURCES The Verge Android and Me
